If you're familiar with John Petrucci's gear, you know that he doesn't just throw his signature on anything. Anything with his name on it is crafted as precisely as your typical Dream Theater solo. This Dreamscape from TC Electronic is essentially a multi-effect pedal built to Petrucci's exacting standards. It has chorus, flanger and vibrato, but it also features a "crunch" version of each. This will give you a much more natural, organic sound when using these effects with lots of distortion. Think of that dark, chorusy, gain-laden Petrucci sound.
