Music Store Live is proud to present this Suhr Modern in a beautiful trans purple finish over a hand-picked flame maple top! We went over to John Suhr's factory in Lake Elsinore and combed through what seemed to be every single piece of wood they had in search of the best tops, backs, necks, and fretboards that we could find. For the player that wants infinite flexibility with their tremolo and ultimate versatility in their tone, we also went ahead and outfitted this one with a Floyd locking bridge and nut, but went with some pickups that are able to be used for a whole heck of a lot more than just heavy metal or shredding. Lock your strings into place and never worry about intonation issues again when using your tremolo.

The pickups in this one to allow for some great versatility so the guitar sounds awesome whether you're playing through the clean channel or hitting it hard with high gain. The Thornbucker pickups retain some of that beautiful PAF tone that has become so iconic in rock music while also having a bit more oomph to lend itself to some more modern applications. The Thornbucker Plus pickup in the bridge is able to give you a bit of extra punch and a more aggressive sound than a traditional PAF bridge pickup. This allows you to dial up the gain without worrying about getting lost in the mix or ending up with a muddy tone. This is also aided by the beautifully figured pau ferro neck and fretboard. Pau ferro retains some warmth of rosewood but has more hi-mids presence and has a crisper sound to it with a bit more bite and snap than rosewood offers. The swamp ash body and maple top will also give some nice brightness to the overall sound.

If you're looking to turn some heads with your tone as well as with the looks of your axe, this guitar will suit you on the big stage, in the studio, or at home jamming with some buddies. Either way, it's not a guitar you're ever going to outgrow. The hardware and electronics choices for this one were really intended to come up with a swiss army knife, of sorts. We think Suhr hit the nail on the head with this one. We can't find any shortcomings with this guitar, that's for darn sure. It's a perfect balance of vintage and modern both in tone and functionality.
