Spector basses have been at the top of most modern bass players' lists for decades at this point. Music Store Live is thrilled to bring in some of the finest basses out there today. Spector USA represents the attention to detail we've come to really appreciate here at the shop. This Forte looks lean and mean while feeling and sounding absolutely incredible.

The immaculate construction and overall build quality is immediately noticeable. The fretwork is simply perfect and the action is freakishly low with no fret buzzing. It has Spector's standard round neck shape that gives you a solid piece of wood to hold onto while being effortless to maneuver up and down on. Additionally, this one sports an extended 35" scale for the tight and punchy response on the low strings, especially the low-B. At only 8.9 lbs for a 5-string bass, along with feeling great to play, it's extremely comfortable and you can play for hours on end without worrying about shoulder or back pain.

Sonically, we went with some Aguilar pickups and an Aguilar 2-band EQ preamp. This is a combination that keeps the modern bassist in mind but also provides a ton of versatility. A fat and punchy tone with loads of growl is at the heart of this bass. It's a killer hi-fi tone that, if needed, can be toned down for a more vintage feel as well. Whether you're a slapper, fingerstyle player, or rockin' out with a pick, this bass provides a beautiful canvas for you to paint whatever you want on.

Just the controls you need and none of the fluff that you don't, this bass focuses on all of the most important things that make a bass tone great and it's immediately clear what a truly exceptional and well-rounded instrument this is.

Manufacturer's Description

The sleek Forte Series represents the essence of the classic Spector design. Each Forte body is handcrafted from select North American Swamp Ash, a tone wood that is revered for its lightweight and resonance. The Swamp Ash body wings are paired with a 3-piece North American Maple neck and 24 fret Pau Ferro fingerboard. This recipe of Maple & Pau Ferro goes back to the early days of Spector and is proven to provide excellent note definition and clarity. When it comes to pickups and electronics, players can choose from a wide variety of products from EMG, Aguilar & Darkglass. Each of these companies offers an array of pickups & pre-amps that are suitable for players of all genres. As for hardware, each Forte instrument features our lightweight locking bridge for solid, long lasting intonation, high-precision tuners and Dunlop strap locks. Forte instruments provide rich, organic tones with plenty of growl on tap.
