Player's Perspective

Music Store Live is very proud to offer up this Skervesen 7-string Raptor guitar with a beautifully figured poplar burl top! Rounding this one off is a mahogany body, a rosewood and wenge neck, and a figured and stained maple fretboard... That's right, that's birdseye maple under red see-through stain on the fretboard. Pretty darn cool!

This Skervesen Raptor is very appropriately named. The guitar is aggressive and super fast to play. If you're not careful, it could just bite your head off... But if you can channel the power of a true beastmaster, then all it has to offer will be at your fingertips. Blazing lead licks up and down the fretboard are a real breeze while complicated chord shapes are still easy to get every note to ring out perfectly. Even if this is your first foray into the world of extended range guitars, you're likely to feel right at home on this bad boy.

Let's not kid ourselves here, this is a shredder's axe through and through! Sure, it can handle a variety of playing styles, but it's begging to hit the front end of your amp hard and scorch the big stage. The pickups are designed for high-output shredding but they do clean up really nicely as well if you need to dial it back a little bit. Definitely designed for rockers, shredders, and metal-heads, this guitar has some surprising versatility to it while, of course, feeling absolutely amazing to play.

A simple control layout and gorgeous aesthetics round out this incredible sounding guitar. Whether you're lighting it up on the big stage or just jamming with friends, this guitar will impress both visually and with its killer tone.

Manufacturer's Description

The Raptor is the most popular model in the Skervesen line - a  versatile instrument of classic design.

This guitar features a black limba body with an eye poplar top, Jescar stainless frets, Guitarmory pickups, and a red-stained birdseye maple fingerboard. A Hiscox case is included so you can keep your guitar protected from scratches and dings when you're not playing it. It's also covered by a 2-year warranty!

Guitarmory Atlas Pickups

Atlas is a titan. A mountain. Designed for all forms of modern metal, the bridge eats through palm-mutes and articulately pushes leadwork. Though it is warm and smooth, there is a character burdened with fortitude waiting to be discovered. Whether it is a thick rock tone or simply a crushing metal sound required, the hunt ends here for massive room-filling character and devastating attack.
The Atlas neck has a sweet, warm, creamy quality that is a delight for leads and clean passages alike. Thanks to the Alnico 4 magnet, it balances the crushing tone of the bridge like a siren waiting to lull you into bliss.

Their ceramic bridge and neck option lie in wait for those that wish to take the Atlas set to a more extreme metal application and do not desire the warmth the alnico magnets offer, as well as serving faithfully in extended range applications.
