Music Store Live is proud to offer up this drop-dead-gorgeous Paul Reed Smith Private Stock Narrowfield Custom 24-08 Piezo guitar with a narrowfield middle pickup thrown in there for good measure as well! In June of 2018 we took a trip over to Maryland and visited with Paul and his team to design some of the best looking, best feeling, and best sounding guitars you've ever seen. A year later, the finished product was delivered to us in all of its glory!

Of course, this level of perfection does come at a price, but if you're looking for uncompromised and unparalleled quality, it just doesn't get any better than this. From the offerings in the special Private Stock wood library vault we chose a beautifully figured piece of curly maple that is stunningly beautiful. The cavity covers on the back are also made out of matching curly maple as well as the gorgeous stained neck. We wanted the tone of a mahogany back, but didn't want just any old piece of mahogany, so we picked out a piece with lots of figuring and flame on it. Every inch of this guitar gives you something to look at, from the tuner buttons all the way down to the output jack, from the front to the back..

But of course, what good is a guitar if all it has to offer is beauty? We wanted to give this as much versatility and different tonal variations as we could so we went with the our favorite 58/15 pickups which which have the perfect balance between an old school PAF type sound and a modern tone that is articulate, punchy, and defined. They aren't the "low-turn" versions found on a McCarty, for example, so these will have a bit more output and will be able to handle anything from clean tones to heavily distorted sounds with no problem. The narrowfield pickup in the middle gives you a punchy single-coil-like sound but without the risk of any obnoxious hum. The guitar is dead quiet right up until you strum it and bring it to life! This combination of pickups, alone, gives you a wealth of sounds right under your fingers. We didn't stop there, though.

To really put things over the top, we also had PRS put their incredible sounding piezo in this guitar. Some of our favorite sounds out of a PRS involve having the magnetic pickups at full power and then subtly dialing in some of the piezo volume along with it. The clarity and definition in the tone is amazing! On their own, the 58/15 pickups are going to have an articulate, punchy, and clear sound to them and they are based on the first pickups that Paul designed which, in large part, helped put him on the map but with a touch of classic vintage tone as well. The magnetic and piezo pickups combined really provide some magical sounds that can help you slice through any mix like a samurai sword through room temperature butter. Adding the 2 mini toggles to be able to split the pickups was a no-brainer! There are a lot of sounds you can get out of thise beauty and they are all extremely functional, usable, and most importantly, musical.

Without making the guitar overly complicated, we wanted to provide plenty of options to choose from when dialing in your sound. You can't make a bad choice in terms of tone with this guitar. And, of course, it's drop dead gorgeous and will absolutely make you the envy of every guitar player you know.

They say money can't buy you happiness... But it can buy you this guitar, and that's pretty much the same thing.
