Locally built, right here in California, this guitar wails! Of course, the first thing you'll notice is cool multi-color design from the combined skateboard decks that make the top. This is purely aesthetic, but boy does it look cool. Where the trucks for the skateboard used to be, they have filled in the holes with mother of pearl for a subtle, but super cool extra touch.

The McNelly P90's have a classic and vintage tone to them and having three of those in there just gives you that many more options to play with. There is a crispness and airiness to the sound but they can still handle saturation and distortion much better than traditional single-coils. It's kind of like having a single-coil on steroids tone. The combination of the pickups and the Emerson paper-in-oil cap electronics creates a sound that is full while having a vocal-like quality to it. It's got plenty of snap and bite to it and is still very full-bodied at the same time. The Brazilian walnut fretboard is unique in appearance but familiar in tone. It sounds very similar to rosewood with some nice warmth to it. Also adding to the cool factor of this guitar is that the fretboard is reclaimed wood from New York's very own Coney Island. So you've got a piece of American history while rocking a very innovative and modern design.

MCNELLY P90 SOAPBAR

P90's are great, they really are. But you'll often find the neck and bridge mismatched and difficult to balance with each other. This set has been designed very intentionally to solve the balance issues while bringing even better tone to each position. They use a hybrid magnet arrangement, which has a few advantages. Each pickup is made to sound awesome in it's given location. You can set up your rig to be screaming on the bridge, then switch the neck without getting lost in mud. Another big bonus is that you'll find the outputs are well balanced without having to jack up the bridge pickup and bury the neck. They have all the gooey goodness that P90's are about, but bring it with a hint of refinement.

Our in-house guitar tech will inspect, test, set up, and clean all of our instruments on site prior to shipping. All of our instruments are guaranteed to be fully functional upon arrival.
