Player's Perspective

This JP in Music Man's Ball Family Reserve (BFR) lineup commemorates 15 years of Petrucci/Music Man collaboration. They've continued their partnership and have come up with other designs, but the JP15 remains one of the most popular JP signature guitars. The JP15 is more than just a throwback to one of Petrucci's previous models. He's actually using this on tour alongside some of his Majesty guitars. It's a beautiful design that Music Man keeps finding ways to renovate while continuing to innovate.

This guitar has that coveted Petrucci feel: The fretboard is perfectly consistent all the way up and down, and the strings practically play themselves. Bends are easy and intonate very well, and lightning fast runs come out cleanly and with plenty of articulation. The sound is clear and powerful, equally conducive to walls of distortion and crystal cleans. Upper register access is totally unrestricted thanks to a comfortable neck heel and smooth lower bout cut.

This axe is perfect for the Petrucci fan or anyone who's looking for a high-end, high-octane shredder that'll hold up for lifetimes.

Manufacturer's Description

Limited to 84 pieces, this JP15 features a lightweight African Mahogany body with a translucent Purple Sunset finish over a highly figured spalted maple top. The figured roasted maple neck and maple fretboard are fitted with 24 stainless steel frets and custom JP 15 Inlays. Chrome hardware is standard. Each guitar hand signed by John Petrucci and features a numbered certificate of authenticity.
