Ernie Ball Music Man Exclusive Run StingRay Special 4-String H Bass, Trans Amber

Why did we hop on a 9+ hour (each way) train ride to go to San Luis Obispo so we could specifically select all of the woods for our exclusive run of instruments? So that you can get ash and flame maple that looks like this! This is part of our second ever exclusive run of instruments from Music Man. 

The neck is very comfortable and satiny smooth with the gun oil finish, which makes for a comfortable feel and a fast ride all the way up and down. The tone is absolutely thunderous and has all of that StingRay goodness that we all know and love. The flame maple pieces used for the neck and fretboard were all chosen by hand, as was the swamp ash for the body (selected for figuring, but also lightweight). The black hardware, we thought was a nice aesthetic touch that helped make it unique, but also we just think it looks cool, especially with the custom trans amber finish that we concocted with the finish master at the factory (we mixed and matched different stains together until we came up with just the right color).

This is one of those instruments that's put together well enough to let you feel every little vibration of every note you play. The layout is easy to work with yet provides a wide variety of exceptional tones. This axe will make a killer companion on the road and in the studio. This is a StingRay who's voice is designed for today's music and the needs of today's musicians.

The configuration emphasizes all of the amazing qualities of the StingRay for a bass that just sounds and feels unbelievable. The 18V preamp has all of the headroom you could possibly ever need. The neodymium magnets on the new pickups provide some solid punch and higher output than the old alnico ones. It's all about giving you control and sonic power right at your fingertips. Not to mention, you'll never run into somebody else with the same StingRay as you with this unique configuration we've cooked up.
