The D-16RGT has the delicious dreadnought low-end and crisp highs that Martin perfected almost a century ago.It’s a stripped-down, no frills kind of vibe that favors tone, responsiveness and longevity above all else. Open position chords have a way of bursting off the fretboard and ringing out with a bell-like quality. Single-note lines are expressive and nuanced, never thin in the high-end and always with plenty of body. The neck is kind to your playing hand, and the cozy nut width will help you not cramp up during long gigs or practice sessions.
Special Features
This D-16RGT features a solid Sitka spruce top with solid east Indian sides and back. This classic tonewood combination provides balance, projection, and a gorgeous midrange complexity. Under the spruce top, the bracing is set in a hybrid X scalloped pattern. This gives the lows and highs a little more projection, a perfect complement to the dreadnought’s natural clarity and rich bottom end. I love the stripped down vibe of the aesthetics on this axe - it has everything you need and nothing that's there just for show.
