Martin Custom Shop OM-41/45 Acoustic Guitar, Hand Selected Guatemalan Rosewood Back and Sides

Martin acoustic guitars have a long and storied history of being some of the best acoustic guitars on the planet. Even better, however, are the guitars they are crafting in their Custom Shop!

We linked up with the guys at Martin and came up with all of the woods and appointments on this guitar to put together something that looks absolutely gorgeous (this particular type of rosewood also smells really nice, so that's a cool little bonus), plays effortlessly, and sounds full, warm, and punchy. We're proud to offer up this OM style acoustic with Guatemalan rosewood back and sides and a gorgeous high altitude Swiss spruce top. Everything is bound in figured European flame maple for an elevated and organic elegance. This guitar is going to be a fingerpicker's dream, no doubt, while also providing enough versatility to be strummed on and played hard.

Guatemalan rosewood is a beautiful and lush-sounding tonewood. It brings out some great depth and clarity to the notes while keeping them warm and smooth sounding. The bass response is crystal clear and the added scale length of the OM model helps the notes remain tight, punchy, and extremely articulate. With Brazilian rosewood becoming increasingly difficult to source, this is Martin's new "holy grail" rosewood that has a lot of similar tonal properties to the Brazilian one.

Overall, this guitar is built to have a warm, harmonically rich, and lush tone and it is designed with a finger-style player in mind, but also we wanted to make sure it could handle strumming and pick-playing as well. The bass response is very tight and focused so it won't overpower your other notes. The treble is a bit subdued so it doesn't become shrill or too piercing but it still absolutely shines through and can cut through a mix if you're playing this in a full band setting. The mids are plentiful, but only where they need to be so the guitar will won't sound nasaly or get in the way of any vocals.

The combination of the Guatemalan rosewood and the Swiss spruce also make for a very loud guitar that projects extremely clearly and reacts well to the dynamics of your playing style. Whether you're a collector, a player, or a collector that plays - This is going to be one of the best Martin's you'll ever come across.
