Music Store Live is very proud to offer up this Mayones Hydra 6-String Headless Guitar. This one is extra special with a black limba body. Black Limba is difficult to work with but contributed to some of those iconic Gibson guitars from back in the day. They provide a more refined midrange than mahogany. This guitar is going to be punchy and articulate!
This guitar is aggressive and super fast to play and if you're not careful, it could just bite your head off, too... The irony, of course, being that a Hydra is a many-headed serpent from Greek mythology. This guitar, however, is headless. Easy to transport (especially on airplanes) and easy on the shoulders and back, there are some definite advantages to the slimmed down and sleek design concepts in this guitar.
Blazing lead licks up and down the fretboard are a real breeze while complicated chord shapes are still easy to get every note to ring out perfectly. The pickups are screaming hot and they can easily handle any amount of gain and saturation. They remain tight and punchy in the low end while still having a crisp and cutting treble. The Duncan Nazgul and Sentient pickups are shredders through and through. They are overwound and have plenty of mid-range to help give you definition and articulation even if you're playing with loads of saturation. The ergonomic body, perfectly groomed frets, and built for speed neck design keep the Duvell's eye focused clearly on the needs of the modern day player.
All it needs is a master to tame the dragon.

Seymour Duncan Nazgul & Sentient Pickup Set
Take your guitar to the center of the earth with the Nazgûl and Sentient high output passive humbucker pickups. The Nazgûl combines a large ceramic magnet with custom winding specs. The result is a perfect blend of note articulation, saturation, pick attack, and one of the most brutal “chugs” you’ll ever hear from a humbucker. It has incredible harmonic content across all frequency ranges, and an insanely tight bass response. The Nazgûl has a seriously aggressive high gain sound that is lively, yet completely controllable.
The Sentient neck delivers a balanced, versatile tone that fits right between the 59 and the Jazz model neck pickups. You’ll get pristine cleans, and fluid leads under high gain. The Sentient is a very articulate vintage output pickup with great dynamic response and a wide harmonic range. It works great for low tunings in all humbucker-equipped guitars.
Hand-built in our Santa Barbara, CA factory, the Nazgûl and Sentient both feature a large ceramic and alnico 5 bar magnet respectively, nickel silver bottom plate, and 4-conductor lead wire for multiple wiring options. These high output passive humbucker pickups are also available in both 6-string and 7-string passive mount sets, and are vacuum wax potted for squeal-free performance.
