Player's Perspective
James Trussart has been building instruments made out of metal since the 70's and at this point his artist roster is a veritable who's who of the rock world. It's pretty impressive how many guitarists (and bassists like Geezer Butler) have sought out Mr. Trussart to get a unique but thoroughly badass instrument.
This Deluxe SteelCaster is a unique take on a classic design. The body shape should look pretty familiar but this is definitely not your granddaddy's Tele (though it may look like it's been around the block a time or two). The neck feel is round and comfortable. It's not super thin but also far from being bulky. Open chords are just as comfortable as soring lead lines way up high. Tonally the guitar absolutely ROCKS! The semi-hollow build and pau ferro fretboard help keep the guitar warm-sounding while still having plenty of brightness on tap.
The Arcane pickups in this one are simply awesome. They sound and respond like an old-school, hand-wound pickup. The neck pickup is rich, warm, thick, and creamy. It's perfect for smooth and sweet lead lines and can handle distortion much better than a traditional tele single-coil neck pickup can. The bridge pickup is bright and spanky without feeling like there's an ice pick being drilled through your ear drums. It has enough output to balance well with the humbucker.
