Player's Perspective
Moog has been building synthesizers for decades, and they've finally applied their encyclopaedic knowledge of all things analog to inexpensive, expertly crafted pedals. This Minifooger Delay offers 35-700mS of pure, rich and blooming analog repeats. When it's dialed in for shorter setttings, the delay is fast and articulate. At longer settings, the repeats naturally become a touch darker and retain a natural warmth that would make The Edge's and David Gilmour's pedal boards equally jealous.
What makes these Minifoogers so much fun is that they are kind of like instruments unto themselves. While most pedals are somewhat 2-dimensional in their approach - step here, sound of pedal will come out - this pedal gives the user much more flexibility and control. The control knobs are time, feedback, mix and drive. I love the drive control. In addition to eliminating some pedal board headaches (you can get rid of that pre-delay boost!), it functions as another way to sculpt your delay sound, adding a level of authenticity and richness that eludes even most studio delays. You can also add an expression pedal and assign it to the time knob or the feedback knob.
This is one of the easiest and most cost-effective ways to explore uncharted sonic territory. Hats off to Moog for shaking things up in the pedal world.
