Player's Perspective

G&L's ASAT Bluesboy has quietly become a staple in the industry. Plenty of players rely on its artful combination of classic bolt-on twang with humbucking flexibility. This Bluesboy 90 is another variation on the ASAT theme - this time with a P-90 in the neck position rather than a humbucker. All of the usual singing, crisp tone is still alive and well in the bridge pickup, but you'll be able to get warm, fat tones out of the neck pickup. Use it with a little distortion for blues tone with some serious attitude, or use a clean, dry signal for jazzy sounds. Everything else you love about the Bluesboy is intact. The neck feel is round and comfortable for a whole range of styles, and the construction is immaculate. This is a great American-made guitar with a unique tonal profile.

Special Features

The G&L ASAT® Classic Bluesboy 90 is a fresh take on the Bluesboy vibe, swapping the neck humbucker for a G&L P-90 made right here in Fullerton. As with the original Bluesboy, the single-coil Magnetic Field Design bridge pickup created by Leo Fender delivers crisp attack with complex harmonics while individual brass saddles offer modern levels of intonation refinement. Flip to the neck P-90 and there's a whole lot of bluesy tone but with more harmonics that you'll get in a humbucker. If you've dreamed of an ASAT that delivers stellar "woman tone" then here's your guitar.

The ASAT Classic Bluesboy 90's hard-rock maple neck features an easy-playing satin finish, comfortable 9 1/2" radius and Jescar 57110 medium-jumbo nickel-silver frets for silky playability. The moment you open the luxurious Tolex hardshell case, you’ll be greeted with a stunning instrument and delicious aroma that’ll have your pulse racing.

Founded by Leo Fender in 1980, G&L USA instruments continue to be made in the historic G&L facility on Fender Avenue in Fullerton, California, the Birthplace of Bolt-on.
