Music Store Live is proud to present this 2018 Fender Custom Shop 1959 Vintage Custom Stratocaster! This Strat has a fullness of tone that is sure to please and it performs like a well kept vintage axe while incorporating some modern touches that only help make it even more comfortable.

While this strat sounds as genuinely vintage and reminds you of the best sounding strats from back in the day, it's got a compound radius to help you get that sound without having to struggle when you're up high trying to shred. The frets feel mostly vintage, but they are just a tad larger. Just enough to, again, make the overall playability a bit smoother while still maintaining the sound and the vibe of an old strat.  The pickups sound incredibly close to a real vintage Strat - they have a vocal-like quality that is full and expressive. The bridge pickup isn't shrill and the neck pickup isn't muddy but the pickups all still ring out like a bell.

Overall, this is a very resonant Strat. It feels and responds like a real vintage axe that has been well played for years and you can feel every not all the way up and down the neck and the body of the guitar. At only 7.7 lbs and some modern tweaks on the overall playability from the visionaries at Fender's custom shop, and you can easily be rocking this guitar all night long with no issues. It's ready to be an absolute workhorse for you without making you have to struggle with it.

Of course, we expect nothing but the best from the Fender Custom Shop team and we can confidently say they hit their mark, and then some, on this build. The thin lacquer coat will only look better and better over time. The neck is glossy smooth and will wear in to fit like a glove the more you play it. This is a strat that's going to be hard to put down and wants to be played, that's for sure.

Manufacturer's Description

1959 was a pivotal year in the annals of Stratocaster history. It was the first year that modern features, such as rosewood fingerboards and the now-iconic 3-Color Sunburst finish made their initial appearance. The Vintage Custom 1959 Stratocaster sports both a slab rosewood fingerboard and a sumptuous chocolate 3-Color Sunburst finish, as well as some other cool and rare features from the Stratocaster's formative years. The flash-coat lacquer finish lets the guitar breathe more freely and organically for singing sustain and warm tone. The neck features a vintage 7.25"-9.5" compound radius, which we found on some rare examples, giving it a unique feel even among vintage-inspired models. It also features medium vintage frets, which are slightly larger than regular vintage and very comfortable to play.

Other features found on this guitar include a 2-piece select alder body, tinted rift-sawn maple neck with '59 "C"-shaped neck profile, 21 medium vintage frets, hand-wound '59 Strat single-coil pickups, 5-way switch, vintage wiring, 3-ply mint green nitrocellulose pickguard, American Vintage synchronized tremolo bridge, bone nut, wing string tree and vintage-style tuning machines.
