For over three decades now, Paul Reed Smith has been producing some of the finest guitars in the market. To celebrate that 30 year legacy, PRS introduced the release earlier this year of the 30th Anniversary Custom 24. Based on PRS’ iconic, top-selling model, The Custom 24, the guitar that burst PRS on to the scene in the 80’s and upped the ante in the guitar market for quality, tone and playability, this 30th Anniversary edition continues the long tradition of the 24-fret carved top solidbody that debuted in 1985 to such high acclaim by providing top level clarity and a versatile voice. For the 30th Anniversary version, PRS has also outfitted the Custom 24 with the new 85/15 treble and bass pickups which are uncovered humbuckers that offer extended high- and low-end response to better fit modern players. In addition to the new pickups, the 30th Custom 24 comes in a variety of colors has purfling on the fretboard and headstock, 25” scale length, a 24 fret mahogany neck, Phase III tuners, a 5-way blade switch plus volume and tone controls and PRS’s patented tremolo system as well as special 30th Anniversary mother-of-pearl Birds inlays.
For 30 years PRS has been a constant presence pushing the guitar industry forward. With this 30 Anniversary edition, PRS has paid tribute to the guitar that started it all for the Maryland based manufacturer while incorporating the benefits of their modern day innovations and technology.
