You can sense it before you even get it plugged in. It's easy to feel the body and neck resonate as you play, creating a very connected musical experience. The neck is comfortable and just thick enough in all the right places, which along with the 24.75" scale makes for a slinky, smooth feel. If you're a bender, you're going to love the way this guitar plays. Bends just kind of happen when you need them with minimal effort and expressive vibratos are always at your fingertips.
In this one we went with Seymour Duncan Alnico II Pro pickups. These come from that vintage category of rock humbuckers and sound absolutely incredible in bluesy and classic rock settings. They'll clean up nicely but can also handle saturation very well. There's enough output to still hold up well as you start to get more overdriven, but it'll still have that open and airy style that older humbuckers used to have. They're also very dynamically responsive, which is probably a byproduct of that vintage design as well. It makes for what is certainly a versatile guitar, but definitely heavily rooted in classic rock inspirations. These are the pickups on Appetite For Destruction. Get your Slash on!

Crafted at our ESP USA facility in Southern California, the USA Eclipse is the classic single-cutaway shape that’s been at the heart of many of music’s greatest moments. The USA Eclipse offers a full thickness (60mm / 2 3/8”), beautiful mahogany body. This guitar offers a smooth set-thru construction at a classic 24.75” scale, with a three-piece thin U-shaped mahogany neck and an ebony fingerboard with 22 extra-jumbo Jescar stainless steel frets and mother-of-pearl split-flag inlays.
We chose the very best components available for the USA Eclipse, including Sperzel Trim-Lok tuners, TonePros locking TOM bridge and tailpiece, Schaller strap locks, and a bone nut. Pickups for this USA Eclipse include a set of world-class Seymour Duncan humbuckers, with a push-pull coil-split control on the tone knob. The USA Eclipse includes a high-quality ESP USA form-fitting hardshell case.
FEATURES
Graphite Neck Reinforcement Bars: Get maximum strength and stability from your guitar’s neck, with higher long-term reliability. All ESP USA models are made with two high-strength bars of carbon fiber.
Weight Relief Chambering: The ESP USA Eclipse offers a traditional full-thickness body but is strategically chambered so the weight of the guitar remains comfortable and noticeably lighter than most classic single-cut body style guitars.
Full Thickness Carved Top w/ Natural Masked Binding: Over a half-inch of beautifully figured open-grain mahogany is carved to our ESP USA Eclipse contours, allowing for the natural masked binding to highlight the exquisite top.
THE PICKUPS
Seymour Duncan Alnico II Pro: Our Alnico 2 Pro humbucker pickups will instantly turn your guitar into a true bluesbreaker. The Alnico 2 Pro Humbucker neck uses the soft treble attack and low string pull of an alnico 2 bar magnet, combined with a special vintage output coil wind to create a warm, sweet tone that is smooth and full, with tons of natural sustain. The highs sound thick and really sing, while the lows are warm and buttery, giving you a pickup that is very sensitive to pick attack.
The Alnico 2 Pro bridge humbucker’s highs are articulate and smooth, and the lows are warm and spongy. Combined with a high gain tube amp, the overdriven tone is expressive and soulful. For over 25 years Slash has been the champion of this pickup and used them exclusively on Appetite for Destruction, which has gone on to become the biggest selling debut album of all time.
Hand built in Santa Barbara, CA, the Alnico 2 Pro humbucker pickups use an alnico 2 bar magnet, nickel silver bottom plate, 4-conductor lead wire for multiple wiring options, and are wax potted for squeal free operation.
