Crossfader deluxe
The optical crossfader adds a wealth of live control possibilities. Add sudden bursts of effects to a sound, make smooth transitions between tracks, or completely and utterly change the sound of a whole pattern. The choice is yours.
Next generation sequencer
All the tracks of a pattern can have individual length settings. Not to mention different time signatures. Or the possibility to assign different parameters to each note. This amount of control makes it easy to create intricate and evolving poly rhythms.
Sample slice
Slicing a sample divides it in different regions. Once the sample is sliced the sequencer can play back the various slices in any order. Slice points make it easy to break down and restructure audio from the ground up. An indispensable remix tool.
Loose and rigid
The micro timing feature equals high resolution note trig editing. Every note can be nudged back and forth with a resolution of 1/384th steps. Thanks to micro timing, fast flams and off-kilter stutters can be realized with no effort.
MIDI control
Eight dedicated MIDI tracks are at hand. Every MIDI track comes with an arpeggiator, three assignable LFOs and two pages of CC parameters. Micro timing, individual track length and time signature settings further enhance the MIDI experience.
Design an LFO
No less than three LFOs are available per track. But there is more. The LFO designer tool, in which customized LFO waveforms can be drawn, literally illustrates how astonishing samples affected in a precise manner can sound.
Easy editing
The audio editor is where editing of samples takes place. Here trimming, loop point handling, normalization, splicing, and a range of other options are carried out. The clear graphical interface makes editing tasks quick and efficient.
Card storage
Compact Flash cards are the storage medium of the Octatrack. Cards up to 64 GB can be used, providing the means to store an immense amount of samples. As a 16 GB card is bundled with the Octatrack, start producing right away.
