Yamaha's history and origins begin with making guitars. That's why their logo, even when on a motorcycle, has tuning forks on it. And these days they are continuing to honor the company's heritage and reputation by producing instruments that regularly outperform the competition in a similar price point.

The pickups in this are definitely vintage-voiced, but they have some edginess to them. They hold up well with distortion and sound great clean as well. You can get really bluesy with this and it'll sound as cool as it looks. The fit and finish is fantastic on this. Fretwork is great and overall build quality lets you play effortlessly, and with low action, so you don't have to "work" at playing the instrument.
