We went up to Suhr's factory and hand-selected all of the woods for this guitar. We've been hearing from you for a few years now that you'd love to see us carrying Suhr guitars. Well, we've listened!
The Suhr Modern series of guitars are designed for... well, you guessed it... the modern day player who's not afraid to deviate from the vintage tones of old. For this build, we got to go up to John Suhr's factory in Lake Elsinore and hand select all of the woods and appointments that went into this guitar. The SSV and SSH Plus pickups sound amazing! They're hot enough to handle any amount of distortion but yet are versatile enough to sound amazing clean. The addition of the middle single-coil pickup really makes this a swiss-army knife type of guitar. They're hot enough to push the front end of an amp hard, but can also be mellowed out for warmer and more vintage tones. Overall this guitar is a pure race horse. The neck plays super fast and the tone just makes you want to shred up and down the neck. The Gotoh bridge will guarantee that you can wail away on the trem as much as you want and your intonation will remain spot on. It's also recessed into the body to allow for incredibly low action and effortless playing. The roasted maple neck and board gives you some nice brightness and snappiness while also being more rigid and structurally sound than non-roasted maple. The alder fretboard helps maintain some warmth in the mid-range. It's just the right amount of punchy bass, distinct mid-range, and crisp treble to keep your notes clear and defined under any circumstance. This is a one-of-a-kind Suhr and it's begging to be uncaged.

The Modern shape is our high-performance take on the 24 fret design. The sleek elliptical neck profile, balanced asymmetrical body, and innovative neck heel deliver unmatched playability and comfort. The stunning Flame Maple top is available in a variety of transparent finishes that have been developed to enhance its natural beauty.
This Modern Carve Top features a roasted maple neck and fretboard. The Suhr Modern is equipped with our Modern Elliptical neck profile. Rolled edges and a 10-14” compound fingerboard radius offers a slim, yet comfortable shape. Stainless steel frets offer silky smooth bending and long-lasting playability. Every Suhr receives a PLEK fret dress, ensuring the best possible string action, playability and intonation. The sculpted heel of the Modern allows for easy access to all 24 frets. For optimum tone and stability, the neck joint must not be too tight or too loose, therefore all of our neck pockets are precisely fitted by hand, by expert craftsmen. The Modern shape has a unique asymmetrical body that balances superbly with the extended 24-fret neck. Fast, sleek and sexy looking, the Modern shape will feel right at home to players who were weaned on the popular and innovative shapes that came into vogue in the 80’s. The Gotoh 510 recessed tremolo bridge will provide immaculate tuning stability and excellent sustain.
