Music Store Live is proud to offer up this thoroughly rockin' Modern Custom from Suhr. 

We traveled to John Suhr's factory and hand-selected all of the woods and appointments for this guitar. We couldn't be more pleased with how it turned out. The way the trans purple finish took to the burl maple top brings out some really cool and psychedelic colors. This guitar was designed for the hard rocker that still wants some versatility. It does have Suhr's most aggressive pickups so that you can really throw any amount of distortion and saturation you want at it.

This guitar excels in high gain situations and remains articulate and clear. Since we were designing this with a shredder in mind, we went with a recessed Gotoh 510 bridge that allows for even lower action without compromising intonation or sustain. The Gotoh 510 is so good that we didn't really feel the need to put a Floyd bridge and locking nut on this one. You can wail away on the trem and it always returns to perfect pitch with no issues whatsoever. We also went with a reverse headstock which adds a little bit of extra tension to the lower strings and makes them feel a little better when drop-tuning. This is also pretty subtle, but we do feel that the reverse headstock design helps with string tension in drop-tuned situations. Not only that, but it adds to the aggressive rock vibe that's oozing out of every inch of this guitar.

As for the body woods, we went with a classic combination of a mahogany body and mahogany neck to add some nice warmth to the overall sound. The ebony fretboard is an upgrade that adds some crispness and brightness to the sound without scooping out the mid-range like maple fretboards can tend to do. The burl maple top will also contribute to the brightness in the tone as well as the tightness in the bass response, albeit subtly. The main tonewoods here that are going to really impact the sound of the guitar are going to be mahogany for the body and neck as well as ebony for the fretboard. We also had Suhr chamber the body so this beauty weighs in at a svelte 7 lbs.
