As all PRS fans know, the Custom 24 is the original guitar that Paul took to his first tradeshow in '85, and it's become PRS's flagship model as one of the most perfect guitars built. The "Floyd" variant is a shred-friendly departure from a stock Custom - instead of the venerable PRS Tremolo, this one features the legendary Floyd Rose bridge, a double-locking tremolo that stays in tune no matter what crazy acrobatic techniques you throw at it, as well as the slightly hotter \m/ pickups, which can be considered overwound 85/15s. These pickups have just enough heat to push your amp into crunch faster and stay tighter at higher levels of distortion while still remaining versatile with the 5-way switch and coil-split.
Playability-wise, just as on the regular version, the Pattern Thin neck shape is lightning fast to maneuver around and definitely allows for some effortless fast runs while not feeling like a toothpick in your hands.

The Custom 24 "Floyd" is equipped with the time-tested Floyd Rose "Original" tremolo system and PRS's \ m / (metal) pickups. The Floyd Rose "Original" tremolo and locking nut tuning system is a double-locking design precision-made from high quality steel. This design combination allows players to lock the string at the nut and at the bridge to keep the guitar in tune even during the heaviest dive-bombing sessions. The Custom 24 is the quintessential PRS guitar. This iconic instrument was the first model that Paul Reed Smith brought to the public at PRS Guitars’ first Winter NAMM show in 1985 and has been a top seller ever since.
