This one is part of Fender's Limited Edition series of Custom Shops and packs some unique aesthetics along with a tried and true classic sound of a '60s Strat but with a bit more meat on them. The pickups are extremely vintage-sounding and have that bell-like characteristic we all love so much but the extra body that you get in the notes works really well with distortion. Any SRV type stuff is just absolutely perfect on this guitar!
 
The roasted maple neck is an absolute playground for your fretting hand. It only makes it better that Fender chose a really beautifully figured piece for this one. It's a birdseye maple neck and fretboard but if you look on the back of the neck you'll see there's also a good bit of flame figuring on there! You don't usually get both together on one piece of maple. A perfect neck combined with some of the most precise and perfect fretwork you'll ever come across and the only limit to what you can do on this guitar is going to be you and your abilities. And that's a really great thing! The guitar will never get in your way and you'll unlock possibilities under your fingers that you may have previously thought to be out of reach.
 
This is the kind of guitar that makes you a better player and it'll also make you look like a complete bad@$$!

How hot do you think the Limited Edition Relic ’56 Fat Roasted Strat is going to sound? Its tone is on fire, thanks to roasted maple neck and roasted alder body with Relic lacquer finish, matched to hand-wound Fat 60s Strat pickups with Fat 50s wiring as the special sauce. This wiring offers bold tone with transparent bloom while reducing treble loss when adjusting the instrument’s volume. It also smooths the control tapers, avoiding the typical hotspots when adjusting your volume or tone.

Other features include Closet Classic Hardware, a AA birdseye maple neck with “10/56 ‘V’”-shaped profile, 9.5” radius fingerboard, 21 6100 jumbo frets, gold 8-hole pickguard and American Vintage six-point synchronized tremolo. Includes deluxe hardshell case, strap and Certificate of Authenticity.
