Music Store Live is very proud to offer up this Skervesen Chimera with a gorgeous poplar burl top.
This guitar is a welcomed addition to the already unique and outside-the-box offerings coming from these elite luthiers out in Poland. All Skervesens are built with immaculate attention to detail and this one is no different. What was really impressive about this guitar, however, is it's awesome versatility.
Skervesen is somewhat ubiquitous with "shredder guitars". You're not hearing too many people playing jazz gigs with a clean tone and a Skervesen. But this Chimera is truly an incredibly versatile guitar. It actually sounds awesome played with a clean tone and a little reverb on it. Of course, like all Skervesens, it also excels when you start to add some dirt to your sound. The neck is very thin and incredibly fast and effortless to move around on. The flame maple fretboard, along with looking beautiful, adds the perfect amount of brightness to the sound. You'll never get buried in a mix with this guitar, that's for sure.
Overall, we were really impressed with this beauty here at the shop. It's extraordinarily versatile. It absolutely handles any amount of distortion you can throw at it with grace. But the awesomely surprising bit was how great this also sounded with a clean tone. This really could be the Skervesen that does it all, including providing a deep and powerful low-end with that extra thunderous B-string.
Manufacturer's Description
It’s born of the Raptor model and shares it’s versatility. The more aggressive appearance isn’t the only difference. The Chimera borrows some ergonomic features from the Swan and Shoggie models and both it’s top and back are radius curved. Only selected wood species are used as body and neck material to ensure balanced sound.
