This is THE guitar for anyone looking for a vintage sound out of a modern-feeling (and looking) axe. The vintage-voiced 58/15LT pickups are Paul Reed Smith's take on an improvement to the holy grail PAF pickups of yesteryear. They provide excellent warmth when playing clean and enough output and mid-range to keep your tone distinct and articulate when using distortion. With a solid foot in the door of vintage sounds, this guitar still has the versatility of cutting through and always being clear. This PRS also sports a neck profile that feels comfortable in your hands, is easy to maneuver around on, and yet doesn't feel like you're playing a toothpick, this guitar is the kind of axe you'll never want to put down. The fit and finish is absolutely sublime on this and the korina neck and body provide just the right amount of mid range grunt to allow you to punch through any mix, no matter how dense it might be. The EQ is perfectly balanced. Like what you'd expect to hear on a record after a world-class producer is done mixing your guitar tone... Except there's no post-mastering needed with this bad boy! String bends are effortless, the tremolo is precise as can be and maintains perfect intonation, and the fretwork is a simply exquisite. This is a PRS Custom 22 through and through, just with a few extras that you can't otherwise get from PRS.
Playability is simply off the charts and attention to detail, from top to bottom, is nothing short of immaculate. If you're looking for a PRS Custom 22 that's going to stand out from the rest of the bunch with a versatile but vintage sound, this will absolutely hit the mark!
Manufacturer's Description
The Custom 22 is a classic workhorse with all the tones you’ve come to expect from your PRS with a distinctive vintage sound and clarity thanks, in part, to its 58/15LT pickups. These pickups are wired for our 5-way blade switch, which offers a dual humbucker option (see switching positions below). The Custom 22 also features a PRS patented Gen III trem and comfortable solid korina pattern neck. Along with the ebony fretboard, which is normally only available on Artist Package and Private Stock guitars, the following options are exclusive to this wood library run and cannot be had on any other PRS (aside from a Private Stock builds at 10 times the cost): korina neck and body / ebony fretboard / quilt maple 10-top / custom blood orange smokeburst front and natural back.

Our in-house guitar tech will inspect, test, set up, and clean all of our instruments on site prior to shipping. All of our instruments are guaranteed to be fully functional upon arrival.
