Player's Perspective
Music Store Live is proud to offer up this gorgeously spalted Tele built by the finest luthiers in Fender's army over at their Custom Shop factory. This is an excellent example of the beauty that can come out of a simple and classic design. The spalted maple top and roasted flame maple neck really help this to stand out from every other Tele floating around out there.
The sound is nothing short of magical. The pickups definitely have that hand-wound feel and sound to them and they really have an extra bit of character that is just missing from the machine-wound stuff. The science behind this is a bit beyond this reviewer, but there is no doubt that there's something special in these custom shop hand-wound '51 Nocaster pickups. They have all of that sparkle, spank, bite, sizzle, and twang that a Tele is known for while still being full and rich in the bottom end. The neck pickup is warm and round, while still being able to give off some good snap. The bridge pickup sounds bright without being shrill, and cuts without being thin.
The fit and finish, and overall construction of this guitar really help set it apart from all others. The pickups do sound absolutely amazing, but that may not be as obvious as the immediately impressive build quality that will instantly make your hands jump for joy as soon as they grab onto that gorgeous neck and wrap around the beautiful roasted alder body. This is some of Fender's finest work. The frets are immaculately installed, crowned, and polished. The neck pocket is extremely precise and the resonance of a strummed chord can be felt all the way up and down the neck and through the body of the instrument. The sum of the parts on this really combines to make one heck of a beautiful Telecaster that'll turn heads with its looks and the way it sounds.
This is both a collector's piece and a player's instrument at the same time. Delivering that Tele sound at the highest caliber, this is one to help you stand out from the bunch.
