If you're looking at this, chances are you're already familiar with the impeccable reputation that John Suhr has built for himself and his team over the years. Known for their high-end boutique hot-rodded guitars, the craftsmanship and playability of these guitars is unparalleled. If you're looking for something that will be reminiscent of that Strat you had back in the day but want it to play and sound like it was put together with some of today's finest guitar builders... Well, you can stop your search right here! This Classic Custom also sports some hotter pickups than the traditional Classic Pro that Suhr has to offer and includes a nice hardshell case, too. The candy cobalt purple is subtle, a bit iridescent, and we think it's one of Suhr's cooler opaque finishes. Making this one also unique, compared to a Classic Pro, is the shredder-ready Even C Slim neck profile that this bad boy comes with. The neck is incredibly fast to maneuver around on. Between the slim neck shape, compound radius fretboard, and perfectly finished stainless steel frets, the neck of this guitar is a true playground for your fretting hand.
The silent (that's right! No more messy 60-cycle hum when soloing a pickup) single coil circuitry allows you to retain 100% of that genuine single coil sound without any of the noise. The ML Standard single-coil pickups have a bit more punch and hotter output to them compared to the V60's that are found in the production-line version of this guitar. But on this build, we wanted to go with something that would balance a little better (in our humble opinion) with the SSV humbucker in the bridge. So using the ML Standard single-coils was the obvious choice. But the beauty here is that the only noise coming out of your guitar will be music that you are creating thanks to this silent circuitry that John Suhr and his crew have assembled. The bridge pickup has an SSV Humbucker in there which gives a tip of the cap to traditional and vintage tones but has enough output to really drive some pedals or to hit the front end of your amp hard. It sounds awesome with some distortion on it for some soaring lead lines up high. You can solo any of the single coil pickups without ever worrying about added hiss. Old school design meets modern playability and sound - all wrapped up in a classy-as-heck pretty package!
