Player's Perspective

As one of PRS's top independent dealers, we often have the privilege of heading out to their factory in Maryland to pick out all of the woods and specifications for a unique and exclusive run of guitars that can only be purchased through our shop! I mean... Just LOOK at the top on this one!!!!!

For the guitarist that wants to absolutely rock out and shred with the best of them, we've designed this guitar just for you! Using Mark Holcomb's limited edition CORE guitar that was released a few years ago as inspiration, this metal-riffic axe is ready to melt faces. The \m/ pickups are high output and hot! You can drench them with any amount of saturation while still retaining articulation, definition, and clarity in your notes. We also stealthed them out with black pickup rings and pole pieces. The Pattern Thin neck is lightning fast to maneuver on and playability is absolutely off the charts on this one.

The korina body and neck provide a similar tone to mahogany, which many people are familiar with. A rich midrange, that is a bit more pronounced and focused with the korina, helps to maintain the clarity in every single note, even when heavily distorted or overdriven. Using a lightweight back also helps with the immense resonance of the guitar and every vibration is efficiently and effectively transferred from headstock to strap button and everything in between. While the korina woods take care of the mids and just the right amount of bass, the ebony fretboard and the maple top will add that shimmery brightness and spankiness that helps you slice through any mix, no matter how dense, no matter how distorted, and no matter how down-tuned you are. Be not only seen but also heard with this bad boy!

It's jaw-droppingly beautiful, plays like a thoroughbred racehorse or a Formula 1 racecar, and is a truly unique work of art that would normally require Private Stock pricing to obtain. If this doesn't catch your attention... I'm just not sure what will.

Special Features

The Custom 24 is the quintessential PRS guitar. This iconic instrument was the first model that Paul Reed Smith brought to the public at PRS Guitars’ first Winter NAMM show in 1985 and has been a top seller ever since. Played by internationally touring artists, gigging musicians, and aspiring players, the Custom 24 features PRS’s patented Gen III tremolo system and PRS \m/ pickups with volume and tone controls and a 5-way blade switch. The PRS \m/ pickups are great for heavier styles of music and were designed with the metal community in mind. Both the treble and bass \m/ pickups are wound in house at PRS and utilize ceramic magnets for full, powerful and crystal clear tones. Whether used with massive amounts of gain or played clean, \m/ pickups are the perfect tool for the player who wants aggressive and articulate tone.

There are several appointments on this guitar which make this truly exclusive. The following are not available on standard CORE Custom 24 models:
Quilt Maple Top / Korina Lightweight Body / Korina Neck / Ebony Fretboard / Abalone Bird Outline Inlays / Custom Charcoal Purple Burst w/Natural Back Satin Finish / Smoked Black Hardware

The Custom 24 is the original PRS. Since its introduction, it has offered a unique tonal option for serious players and defined PRS tone and playability.
