This guitar is extra special as it sports an East Indian rosewood neck and an ebony fretboard that is normally only available on Artist Package or Private Stock guitars. Quilt tops are also increasingly difficult to find in PRS's offerings. The rosewood neck is simply perfection! It feels amazing on your fretting hand and only gets better and better over time. It's simply one of the best feeling necks you can get on a PRS, in our opinion. The ebony fretboard provides a nice extra bit of brightness and sharpness to the attack of your notes while still maintaining a present mid-range.

Flawless playability - that's a pretty good way to describe this Custom 24. The set up is, well, perfect. The action is low, the neck is straight, the intonation is right on the money and this guitar plays like butter on hot toast in every position. This axe can cut any gig in the world. Period. The Gen III tremolo system is smooth to operate and doesn't sacrifice your sustain or intonation. Whether you're dive bombing the tremolo or just adding some light fluttering to your notes, you'll still get tons of sustain and it will return to pitch every time. You can get some of the most desirable sounds you can think of with the different pickup configurations. With the 85/15 pickups and the coil-splitting options you are able to run the pickups in full humbucking mode or split their coils for a snappier single-coil-like sound. This Custom 24 is for the player who wants to be inspired every time they pick up their instrument.

The Custom 24 is the quintessential PRS guitar. This iconic instrument was the first model that Paul Reed Smith brought to the public at PRS Guitars’ first Winter NAMM show in 1985 and has been a top seller ever since. Played by internationally touring artists, gigging musicians, and aspiring players, the Custom 24 features PRS’s patented Gen III tremolo system and PRS 85/15 pickups with volume and tone controls and a 5-way blade switch. 85/15 pickups were personally designed by Paul Reed Smith to offer remarkable clarity and extended high and low end.

The Custom 24 is the original PRS. Since its introduction, it has offered a unique tonal option for serious players and defined PRS tone and playability.
