Music Store Live is very proud to offer up this extremely rare, one of a kind, Mayones Regius 7 Semi-Hollow. Mayones built this as a display piece for NAMM to exemplify their excellent craftsmanship and artistry. When given the chance to scoop this up for our shop, we jumped on it. It's the only guitar like this Mayones has ever made and it absolutely ROCKS!
The Regius line provides an excellent balance between classic design and modern tone. The neck feels absolutely amazing whether you're a 6-string slinger or have been playing extended range guitars for a while. The semi-hollow build gives the guitar a rounder and warmer tone than it's solid-body counterparts with some emphasized bass and treble response. Don't get me wrong, you can still rip on this beauty and saturate it with distortion and it'll still growl and slice it's way through even the most dense heavy metal mixes. Along with that, however, this Regius 7 Semi-Hollow can also cop a slightly mellower vibe as well and could cover any genre from jazz to blues to, of course, rock.
The piezo pickup sounds absolutely glorious and gives you an instant acoustic sound that sounds simply killer. Run it through an acoustic amp or a PA system and you'll swear it's an acoustic guitar, or run it through your electric amp to get a different tonal flavor than your magnetic pickups give you. You can also blend the piezo and magnetic pickups together to achieve a rich, lush, full, and thoroughly pleasing tone. The ebony fingerboard has a bright, yet balanced tone which is reinforced by the incredible 11-ply neck (that's not a typo, folks. They used 11 pieces of wood both for rigidity/stability and tone) has a tight and punchy tone. The Maple-Mahogany-Amazakoe-Wenge combo has a right mid-range, and powerful low end. Every detail of this guitar was carefully considered, not only to craft something that looks drop-dead-gorgeous, but also to create a guitar with a unique Mayones sound that appeals to much more than just speed-shredders.
