Guild USA M-40 Troubadour Concert Acoustic Guitar, Antique Sunburst, Mahogany and Spruce

This is one of the most impressive, tonally unique acoustic guitars we've had the pleasure of playing in a while. The sound of this M-40 is everything you'd expect from a fine, high-end Guild. Single notes have are rich and full, like there's much more going on than just one note ringing out on an acoustic guitar. Chords blend together beautifully while letting each note retain its identity, and you can really hear the harmonic overtones in the wood come out as chords fade. The feel is slinky and comfortable, encouraging all styles of fingerpicking, strumming, and flatpicking. The smaller body size is naturally ergonomic and makes for a punchy, focused instrument. This M-40 truly a unique, rich guitar, and over time, it will only sound and feel better. Made right up the road from our store, here in California, this Guild is a fine example of USA craftsmanship in a warm sounding, and comfortable and easy to play guitar.

Formerly known as the F-20, this style of guitar was made popular by many artists in the folk-era. Back under a new name and designed with some of the modern techniques pioneered by master luthier, Ren Ferguson, this small-bodied American-made sweetheart still radiates the same, charming vintage character.

The M-40 Troubadour’s Sitka spruce top paired with African mahogany back and sides provides a delicate, well-rounded tone that is perfect for fingerstyle playing and light strumming. The small, concert-size body is comfortable and lightweight and features white ABS binding, a rosewood bridge and fingerboard, and a bone nut and saddle. A thin satin varnish gives this guitar its familiar, broken-in look and feel, while also allowing it to breathe. The timeless appointments include a vintage style rosette and Guild’s peak logo inlaid on the headstock. Each M-40 comes with a hand-signed, numbered certificate of authenticity, and ships with a humidified hardshell case. This model is available with a Natural or Antique Burst finish.
