The majority of Custom 24's, these days, are coming with 85/15 pickups, and for good reason. These are a faithful recreation of the pickups that put Paul Reed Smith on the map. They sound vintage enough to get the job done if that's what you need but can also more than handle their own in more modern settings as well. They handle saturation and distortion with grace and ease. The notes are always full and articulate.
There's a very real thing that can happen when you pick up a guitar that is just so inspiring that it makes you a better player. This is one of those special instruments!
