The Suhr Modern series of guitars are designed for... well, you guessed it... the modern day player who's not afraid to deviate from the vintage tones of old. Want a strat-style axe that can melt faces and is comfortable enough to shred on until the sun comes up? Here you go! The Suhr designed pickups work together to provide a powerful and aggressive tone that does have the ability to be somewhat tamed. Both humbuckers can be split to achieve a thinner and more vintage sound. Or run this racecar-of-a-guitar at full speed for a rich, thick, and meaty tone that will be sure to turn some heads. The pau ferro fingerboard is a touch mellower than a maple fretboard would be, but still brighter than rosewood. This guitar can handle anything you throw at it, whether you're looking to play clean, slightly dirty, or heavily overdriven. This is a hot-rodded-Strat-fan's dream, right here! Of course, the beauty of this axe is that not only will you sound amazing, but as soon as you pull the guitar out of its case, before ever even plugging it, you're sure to grab the attention of your bandmates or simply other envious guitarists who will be busy cleaning up the drool that's trickling down their chin. Heck, you don't even have to be a guitarist to be able to appreciate the beauty in the craftsmanship that went into this fine axe!

The Modern shape is our high-performance take on the 24 fret design. The sleek elliptical neck profile, balanced asymmetrical body, and innovative neck heel deliver unmatched playability and comfort. The stunning Flame Maple top is available in a variety of transparent finishes that have been developed to enhance its natural beauty.
The Modern Pro features a quarter-sawn Maple neck with your choice of Maple or Pau Ferro fingerboard. The neck is finished with our satin acrylic urethane, which provides the smooth feel of natural wood as well as protection from moisture. The Suhr Modern is equipped with our Modern Elliptical neck profile. Rolled edges and a 10-14” compound fingerboard radius offers a substantial, yet comfortable shape. Stainless steel frets offer silky smooth bending and long-lasting playability. Every Suhr receives a PLEK fret dress, ensuring the best possible string action, playability and intonation. The sculpted heel of the Modern allows for easy access to all 24 frets. For optimum tone and stability, the neck joint must not be too tight or too loose, therefore all of our neck pockets are precisely fitted by hand, by expert craftsmen. The Modern shape has a unique asymmetrical body that balances superbly with the extended 24-fret neck. Fast, sleek and sexy looking, the Modern shape will feel right at home to players who were weaned on the popular and innovative shapes that came into vogue in the 80’s. The Gotoh 510 tremolo bridge features dual steel knife edge pivot points to provide greater functionality and years of trouble free performance. The 510’s steel block increases sustain and tuning stability.
