The Suhr Modern series of guitars are designed for... well, you guessed it... the modern day player who's not afraid to deviate from the vintage tones of old and needs something with a bit more edge to it. Want a strat-style axe that can melt faces and is comfortable enough to shred on until the sun comes up? Here you go! The Suhr designed pickups work together to provide a powerful and aggressive tone that does have the ability to be somewhat tamed. Both humbuckers can be split to achieve a thinner and more vintage sound. Or run this racecar-of-a-guitar at full speed for a rich, thick, and meaty tone that will be sure to turn some heads. This guitar can handle anything you throw at it, whether you're looking to play clean, slightly dirty, or heavily overdriven. The White Limba body sounds like Korina. It exhibits a lot of similar tonal characteristics in the mid-range that you'd expect out of Mahogany but with a bit more snappiness to it. The roasted maple neck and fretboard are beautiful and add a subtle brightness to the sound. The birdseye figuring on the fretboard is stunning and can be clearly seen even from a distance.
If you're looking to turn some heads with your tone as well as with the looks of your axe, this guitar will suit you on stage, in the studio, or at home jamming with some buddies. Either way, it's not a guitar you're ever going to outgrow.

The Modern shape is our high-performance take on the 24 fret design. The sleek elliptical neck profile, balanced asymmetrical body, and innovative neck heel deliver unmatched playability and comfort. The stunning Angel Quilt Maple top was specifically chosen from the highest quality of quilt maple tops available in their wood library.
This Modern HSH features a roasted Maple neck with a beautiful 3A roasted birdseye maple fingerboard and a highly figured angel quilt maple top. The neck is finished with our satin acrylic urethane, which provides the smooth feel of natural wood as well as protection from moisture. The Suhr Modern is equipped with our Modern Elliptical neck profile. Rolled edges and a 10-14” compound fingerboard radius offers a substantial, yet comfortable shape. Stainless steel frets offer silky smooth bending and long-lasting playability. Every Suhr receives a PLEK fret dress, ensuring the best possible string action, playability and intonation. The sculpted heel of the Modern allows for easy access to all 24 frets. For optimum tone and stability, the neck joint must not be too tight or too loose, therefore all of our neck pockets are precisely fitted by hand, by expert craftsmen. The Modern shape has a unique asymmetrical body that balances superbly with the extended 24-fret neck. Fast, sleek and sexy looking, the Modern shape will feel right at home to players who were weaned on the popular and innovative shapes that came into vogue in the 80’s. The Gotoh 510 tremolo bridge features dual steel knife edge pivot points to provide greater functionality and years of trouble free performance. The 510’s steel block increases sustain and tuning stability.
