This Ernie Ball Music Man StingRay guitar is a modern take on the classic old Sabre guitars by Music Man. As with every guitar coming out of Music Man's factory, here in California, the build quality and craftsmanship of this beauty are off the charts. A black stallion, of sorts, this guitar is classy as heck but packs quite a kick. A simple control layout mixed with powerful pickups and carefully and beautifully chosen tonewoods make this axe the total package.
New for 2018 these come with a roasted figured maple neck for added beauty and stability. The pickups have a vintage vibe to them, but they are definitely a touch more overwound than vintage pickups. This means you can achieve warm, clear, and crisp clean tones while also maintaining definition and articulation when you start to saturate and distort the tone. The 2018 Stingray RS features a brand new roasted figured maple neck with ebony, rosewood or maple fingerboard (fingerboard option depends on body color). The StingRay RS retains all original specifications including vintage spec humbucking pickups, a super smooth modern tremolo system, and offset lightweight African mahogany body. The sound is big and bold when needed but smooth as glass if desired thanks to the perfectly voiced custom pickups. 3-way switch accesses versatile coil combinations while oversized 4 over 2 headstock with straight string pull provides superior tuning stability. Flawless craftsmanship throughout makes the Stingray a perfect culmination of old-world aesthetics and styling with modern design and playability. Also new for 2018 are three new finish options - Vintage Turquoise, Firemist Silver, and Stealth Black with ebony fretboard and matte black finished maple neck.
