If you're looking for the vibe, feel and tone of an early 70's Fender Tele Deluxe, this guitar captures all the great features of early 70's Teles while providing modern day manufacturing precision. Quite possibly the most perfect guitar for blues, country and rock and roll, this Deluxe rips in a big way, has a tight and round low end and always cuts through with tons of soul. The ShawBucker pickups really are a cool upgrade that allows you to dial in vintage sounds while also providing some of that extra power that modern tones require to cut through a dense sonic mix. Your tone will always be defined, even when saturated with overdrive.
The use of mahogany on this guitar adds some nice midrange to the tone that is sometimes scooped out by alder or swamp ash (and maple). There's a warmth and richness to this guitar that you just can't get out of a traditional Tele or even a standard Tele Dlx ShawBucker. The tone woods on this one really make a noticeable difference. The is a must have for any collector or player.
This is one of Fender's Exotic Woods release and is available in very limited quantities.

A departure from Fender's traditional tone wood choices, the 2017 Limited Edition American Professional Mahogany Tele Deluxe ShawBucker tempers the traditional Tele brite with the rich and warm sound of mahogany. Over the course of its journey from the forest floor to the player's hands, this body wood has weathered natural disasters, acquiring more than just a little mojo along the way.
The 2017 Limited Edition American Professional Mahogany Tele Deluxe ShawBucker is loaded with a pair of fat-sounding ShawBucker humbucking pickups. Voiced specifically for each position, the ShawBucker pickups add a new dimension of depth to the guitar's voice. topped by 22 narrow-tall frets for easy bending, the 9.5"-radius rosewood fingerboard, offering enough arc for comfortable chording while remaining flat enough for wide bends. With its fat, high-output sound and slick style, the 2017 Limited Edition American Professional Mahogany Tele Deluxe ShawBucker is a rare, inspiring example of Fender's craftsmanship.
