If you're looking for an axe that has a decidedly modern sound but still possesses that passive vintage vibe, then look no further! In passive mode, the Delano pickups are dead silent and have a bit more punch and output to them than a traditional J-bass single-coil. We wouldn't call them vintage-sounding, by any means, but they certainly mellow out a little in passive mode. Engage the Mayones preamp and you're off to the races! The bass, mid-range, and treble frequencies are all dialed in perfectly with the Mayo preamp in there. This bass truly is a swiss army knife of basses that can get you just about any tone you could possibly ever need. It's an absolute joy to slap on. The ramp between the pickups makes for effortless finger-style playing, and with a plectrum, you can get an edgier rock tone. It's not loaded up with quirky features that are specific to the artist whose signature is on the headstock. It's still a straight-forward Jabba but with that gorgeous spruce top and nice aesthetic appointments to it. This is a real work-horse of a bass that can cut the mustard in any circumstance.
