Player's Perspective

Building on the success of the Vypyr series, the Peavey Vypyr Pro 100 is the latest installment in their TransTube gain amplifier line. This little modeling amp has over 100 different amp models,effects, stompboxes and instrument models that you can blend together into 4 separate presets resulting in millions of tonal combinations. The amp is even able to run 2 or more of the separate amp presets at once to get large wall of sound effects. One of my favorite things to do with the amp is to set one preset to a high gain model with some scooped mids and then make a clean preset to play along with the gain channel to articulate the notes and get a little extra shimmer under the dirty tone. This gets you that dirty/clean overdubbing effect that has been used on just about every rock and roll album. All the effects sound great and the amp models feel as close to tube as you can get. They have that nice squash that you can usually only feel in a tube amp.

This Peavey Vypyr Pro 100 is a 100 Watt amp packed to the brim with features. First things first: This amp is all about modeling. With millions of tonal combinations, you'll never show up to a gig unprepared. Peavey also incorporated the use of the Sanpara Footswitch (sold separately) to utilize the on-board looper, control up to 3 parameters of an effect and to easily toggle between presets. The Custom Voiced 12" Speaker pushes plenty of air to hang in a live setting and stays nice and warm. Perfect for bedroom playing, home recording or even those cover band gigs you have.
