Player's Perspective

Stepping up to the plate is an absolutely beautiful OMC-16E from our friends at Martin. This one has some particularly awesome flame figuring in the ovangkol top that shimmers under the gloss finish.

Built right in Pennsylvania, this represents some of the best craftsmanship that Martin has to offer without going too flashy and fancy with appointments. This is a guitar that lets the wood do the talking, literally and figuratively. Along with being beautiful to look at, the ovangkol helps provide a rich and full sound out of this beauty. It's a great combination of a comfortable body shape that isn't too big but utilizes tonewoods that make it sound fuller than one might expect just from looking at it. The low end on this is deep and tight and the 25.4" scale length helps keep the strings nice and punchy. 

This is a guitar that projects really well and can easily handle heavy strumming without overdriving the top and getting woofy. Heavy-handed players will particularly like how this beauty can keep up with you every step of the way. Ovangkol is a pretty dynamic wood so you'll also be able to get any picking or fingerstyle subtleties in your playing to shine through. Every aspect of this guitar works together to provide this articulate sound while still being deep and bassy. It's a wonderful mix of clarity and warmth.

This 16 Series Orchestra cutaway model is crafted with satin-finished ovangkol back and sides for resonant sound with deep bass and rich overtones. Ovangkol can vary both in color and grain complexity for a unique look. This model includes a mahogany burst ovangkol gloss top for balanced tone and projection and a high-performance neck taper for ease of playability up and down the fretboard. The OMC-16E Burst comes equipped with Fishman® Matrix VT Enhance electronics. Strung with Authentic Acoustic Lifespan® 2.0 light gauge strings.
