Player's Perspective

Music Store Live is proud to present this Fender Custom Shop 50th Anniversary Masterbuilt 1954 Stratocaster! This is as nice of a playing and sounding Strat as we have come across to date. We are consistently impressed with the Masterbuilt guitars from Fender and this one shows you why. You would be hard pressed to find a used guitar in better playing condition than this that has the depth of tone that this one carries. With a seriously impressive response, the body and neck on this 50th Anniversary masterpiece are world class. This Strat will cut any rock, blues, country or soul gig you've got on your calendar or it will fit squarely in the first position of your collectors mantlepiece - it's your call. Just don't say we didn't warn you when you can't put it down.

Item Details

This Stratocaster, built in 2004, was manufactured by Fender master builder Art Esparza from beginning to end, to pay homage to the first Strat Leo Fender put on the market in 1954. Modeled down to every painstaking detail after a beautiful '54 loaned back to the Custom Shop, this master work has been designed to look and perform like a 1954 Stratocaster that was played a few times a year and kept safely in its case all the years. The 2 piece ash body features an off-center seam, two tone sunburst finish, maple neck / fretboard, dot inlays, a U neck profile, styrene knobs and lightly aged parts. The pickups are 1954 custom wound single coils that duplicate the originals with larger pole pieces. The 3 way switch is installed, though this guitar comes with a 5 way switch should you decide you prefer the more modern wiring. The serial number ( # 5742 ) is stamped on the back plate / trem cover just as an original would have been. This guitar comes with its original poodle style hard shell case, case candy and signed Certificate of Authenticity from Fender, hand signed by master builder Art Esparza.

Overall Condition

This 2004 Fender Custom Shop Masterbuilt 50th Anniversary Stratocaster is in excellent condition. There are only a few extremely light pick marks on the guard. Those are the only signs that this guitar has ever been played. The Custom Shop seems to have gone fairly light on the aging process with this one as well, as there are only a very low number of extremely tiny relic dings and the checking they applied to the finish is fairly light. The parts and hardware where only lightly aged. The frets are in excellent condition.

This is an outstanding masterpiece from the Fender Custom Shop. It plays and sounds exceptional and is sure to only increase in value.
