The way the strings are spaced, the resonance of the body, the neck profile and the amazing sonic possibilities all work together so well to yield an incredible guitar. There are no issues, just killer tone, feel and playability. Put this axe to work!
Fender first introduced this guitar in late 1965, making this an early production model. It was designed to capture some of the folk-rock market at the time and while it didn't enjoy tremendous success while it was around until 1970, it certainly made it's mark. The Fender Electric XII was played by Jimmy Page on Led Zeppelin's "Stairway to Heaven", by Jeff Beck on "Beck's Bolero" and extensively by Pete Townsend on The Who's "Tommy" album - and that's just the tip of the iceberg. Other notable users of this axe include Eric Clapton, Lou Reed, Johnny Winter and Tom Petty. This 3 Color Sunburst beauty is all original and features a Jaguar / Jazzmaster style Alder body with exquisite contours, a maple neck ( broad profile ), rosewood fretboard, pearloid dot inlays, hockey stick headstock and 21 frets. This 1966 Fender Electric XII uses a unique split pickup design that has a 4 way pickup selector allowing for neck, neck & bridge in series, neck & bridge in parallel and bridge only options. It also employs a string through the body design. This beauty weighs in at 8.43 pounds and comes with its original hard shell case.
