1961 Fender Stratocaster Sunburst

Music Store Live is proud to present this 1961 Fender Stratocaster! To say that this guitar exudes mojo or vibe would be a huge understatement. This guitar IS mojo. It IS vibe or any other term we usually associated with iconic vintage guitars. Beyond that, this guitar is an incredibly resonant, vibrant, and sweet sounding soul machine. The body is softly worn in from years of great playing with edges that seem to just melt into your body. The neck is comfortable and smooth as the day is long and plays great in every position. The tone is exactly what you would hope it to be. It is very warm and rich with a crisp woody low end, silky mids and a high end that is sweet and singing. The guitar is set up very well. There is no buzzing on the neck. The action is set fairly low. The intonation is dialed in wonderfully and it plays in tune up and down the fretboard. This is a 1961 Strat that you can actually look forward to shredding on as well as hanging on the collectors shelf. Watch and listen for yourself in the clip below. All of the gain you hear is just from the Two-Rock Classic Reverb head itself. No pedals. Enjoy!
This 1961 Fender Stratocaster is all original with the exception of the nut, the frets, the saddle height screws and the volume pot ( though the original pot is included in the sale ). All of the other components, electronics and parts are original and this guitar was never refinished or oversprayed. The Sunburst finished alder body is extremely resonant and the guitar as a whole weighs in at 7.6 pounds. This vintage Strat comes with it's original hard shell case as well. The neck has been sanded down a bit and worn in well from playing. The neck is stamped 8-61 ( see photos ) and the pots date to 1961 as well. The single coil pickups are original black backs. The bridge and saddles are original while only the saddle height screws have been replaced. The neck plate serial number is #62833. The slab board Brazilian Rosewood fretboard was leveled a bit during the refret process. It is not only one of the most gorgeous pieces of wood you've ever seen, its sleek, smooth, and ready to be broken in for a second time. The frets were professionally replaced with the appropriate size and the clay dot inlays are still in great shape. The original single line Kluson Deluxe tuners are still working wonderfully as well. There are some smaller cracks to the original pickguard which is fairly common on a guitar of this age that's been played.
This 1961 Fender Stratocaster is in very good condition. It is an excellent playing guitar. You should be able to see all of the wear in our photos which is all quite typical light to moderate play wear. This Strat has been treated well over the years. The refret was very well done and the frets are in excellent condition. The brown hard shell case is still in good condition and everything works.
This beast is ready to rock the stage, studio and collectors shelf! Beyond being a rock solid investment, this guitar will provide you with an incomparable vintage playing tone and experience. We'll be sorry to see it go!
